Add a team

Where Leagues your league Add Team

Golfers can register themselves from your sign-up link. Use Add Team when you’re registering a team on their behalf at the front desk. For a whole list of teams, upload a roster instead. For golfers without a full team, see Matchmaking.

1. Click Add Team at the top right of the league page.
2. Type a Team Name.
3. Click Add Golfer. Then either search Search Existing Golfers by name, email or phone and click the golfer, or fill in Add New Golfer (first name, last name, email, phone) and click Add New Golfer.
4. Type each golfer’s starting handicap in Initial HCP (18-hole) (optional). On a 9-hole league the box shows what it plays as for 9 holes. During seasoning weeks every golfer still plays gross — see Handicaps.
5. Repeat until the team is full. The counter reads, for example, Golfers (2/2).
6. Click Register Team. A Team Created message confirms it.

• Hold a spot: if you don’t know who is playing yet, click Hold a spot instead of naming a golfer. The seat is paid for now and named later.
• The Pricing Schedule on the right shows what the team owes. After you register, the team shows a yellow tag with the amount still due until it’s paid.

Upload a roster

Register a whole list of teams at once from a spreadsheet. Nothing is saved until you’ve reviewed it.

1. Click Upload roster, beside Add Team, and Download the template. One row per golfer: Team, First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Handicap, Start Time, Division. Golfers with the same team name become one team.
2. Fill it in. Handicap is an 18-hole handicap — on a 9-hole league, tick The Handicap column holds 9-hole handicaps. Double them. if yours are 9-hole numbers. Start Time is one of the league’s start times (for example Thu 6:00 PM), Floating, or blank. A short team gets held spots.
3. Choose a CSV file, then Check against the league. You see how many golfers and teams it found, and which columns it recognized.
4. Answer each Needs your choice card — usually whether a golfer is someone you already have (matched by phone, then email, then name), or whether a team is one already in the league.
5. Leave Email golfers as their team is registered unticked unless you want them emailed now, then click Register N teams. The result lists teams added, new golfers, held spots, and any team that didn’t go in, with the reason.

Fill a held spot, or chase the organizer

Where Teams open the team

A held spot is a paid seat waiting for a name. On the Teams tab it shows as a row on the team, with what has happened to its invite — for example Invite sent, Invite opened or Organizer reminded.

• Name the golfer: click the held-spot row and pick or add the golfer.
• Remind one organizer: ⋮ on the held-spot row → Remind organizer. They get one email covering every spot they hold in the league. Edit note is in the same menu.
• Remind them all: Remind all organizers, next to the team search box, emails every organizer still holding an unfilled spot. The confirmation lists who you’ve Already reminded, and when, so you don’t chase anyone twice; the results show each one as Sent, Skipped (for example no email on file) or Failed.

There’s no limit on how often you can send reminders. If a reminder shows Failed, check the organizer’s last reminded date before sending another — it may have gone out anyway.

Sub a player in or out

A swap replaces one golfer with another for the rest of the season. The team’s seat stays the same.

1. On the Teams tab, click the arrow beside the team’s name to open its golfers.
2. Click the three dots (⋮) beside the golfer you’re replacing, then Swap this player.
3. Choose who takes their place: Search Existing Golfers, or fill in Add a Guest Golfer and click Add Guest & Continue. If that phone number or email already belongs to a golfer on Fareway, the Hub says Already on Fareway — click Use [name] to use them, or Back to edit.
4. If the golfer already played some weeks, the Hub asks what to do with those weeks (see below).
5. Read the confirmation, then click Swap [name] in. A message says Player Swapped.

Weeks already played

If the golfer you’re replacing has already played, choose one of three options. Weeks that are already finalized are never changed.

Sub a golfer for one week

For a golfer who misses one night. Every other week keeps the regular golfer.

1. Open Schedule and pick the week.
2. Click the swap arrows beside the golfer. The Swap Player — Session N box opens.
3. Pick a teammate under League Teammates, search under Search or Add a Golfer, or fill in Add a Guest Sub and click Add Guest & Sub In.
4. If you picked someone not on the team, confirm Add to roster as Alternate?
5. If the golfer already has scores that week, choose Delete their scores or Move their scores to [name], then Confirm Swap.
6. To set the sub’s handicap for that night, click their handicap chip on the Schedule and save an override for that week.

A week that’s already closed can’t take a sub.

Remove a golfer or cancel a team

• Remove from team — in the golfer’s ⋮ menu. Use it to take a golfer off a team who hasn’t played yet. If they’ve already played a week or hold a place in one, the Hub refuses and points you to Swap this player instead.
• Cancel Registration — red, in the team’s ⋮ menu. Removes the team’s registration. This can’t be undone.

The status chip beside a team — gray for Draft, green for Active — switches it between the two.

Find a golfer or copy contact details

• Teams tab: the search box finds teams or players by name.
• Players tab: shows every golfer in the league. Copy All Emails copies them all; the small copy icons beside a golfer’s email and phone copy just that one.
• Session menu on the Schedule tab: Copy all golfer emails and Copy all golfer phone numbers for one week — handy for a night-of reminder.
