Pricing

Pay for the players who actually sign up.

Fareway is priced per registration — one charge when a golfer enters a competition, however many weeks the season runs. Play sixteen nights or four, the bill is the same. Founding-partner rates are open for 2026.

No platform fee, no charge per round Only non-cancelled registrations billed One rate, whatever your size
The model

Two rates. That's the whole price list.

Leagues run a full multi-week season, so they cost more than a one-off tournament. Everything else — unlimited leagues and seasons, scoring, leaderboards, payments, payouts, and free Global Tournaments — is included in the per-registration price.

League registration

$4 / registration Founding Partner (2026)
$6 / registration Standard

One golfer, one league season — a full managed season: scheduling, standings, flights, playoffs, handicaps, and ongoing communication.

Tournament registration

$2 / registration Founding Partner (2026)
$3 / registration Standard

One golfer, one event — a one-off competition: registration, live leaderboard, and payouts. Half the league rate because it is less platform work.

// A registration is one golfer enrolled in one league season or one tournament — never charged per round.

Pricing at scale

One rate, whatever your size.

There is no discount ladder to work out and no threshold to chase. Every registration is billed at the same rate whether you run one league or fifty, across one venue or several — so the price you see is the price you pay, and the sum is one you can do in your head.

Registration type Founding Partner Standard
League registration $4.00 $6.00
Tournament registration $2.00 $3.00

What a season costs

A worked example, end to end.

Take a 6-bay simulator venue that runs a couple of weeknight leagues plus a few tournaments across the year. Here's the whole platform bill — no add-ons, no per-round charges, no surprise license fee.

Total platform cost / year $1,440 420 registrations · founding rate
Extra for a longer season $0 Sixteen league nights or eight — the registration is charged once either way
The season, itemised
300 league registrations × $4.00 $1,200
120 tournament registrations × $2.00 $240
Your season on Fareway $1,440
Charged for rounds those golfers played $0

The cost model

They bill per round. We bill per registration.

Golf Genius publishes a per-round plan for simulator golf — Flex, at $2.00, $1.50, or $1.00 a round depending on volume — and defines a round as one booking per player, so a two-man scramble team counts as two. That makes a golfer in a 16-week league sixteen rounds, not one: $32 down to $16 for the season, against a single $4 registration on Fareway. A longer season costs them more and costs you nothing extra. Figures below are all-league at founding rates, as of August 2026.

League registrations (per location) Fareway (founding) Golf Genius Flex (published) Golf Genius Unlimited (observed)
100 registrations $400 $2,400 ~$3,500–4,500
250 registrations $1,000 $4,000 ~$3,500–4,500
500 registrations $2,000 $8,000 ~$3,500–4,500
800 registrations $3,200 $12,800 ~$3,500–4,500

Where this stops being true: Unlimited is a fixed fee, so it does not grow with your programme. Against the ~$3,500 end of what venues have told us they pay, Fareway is cheaper up to roughly 875 league registrations per location and dearer above it. If you already run more than that and you are on Unlimited, bring your renewal to the demo and we will do the real sum rather than sell you the table.

// Golf Genius Flex rates are published on their simulator golf pricing page, read 5 August 2026: $2.00/round to 1,000 rounds, $1.50 to 2,000, $1.00 above. Their page does not say whether a band's rate applies to every round or only the ones past the threshold — this table assumes every round, the reading that costs Golf Genius the least. Rounds assume a 16-week season, one round per golfer per week. Unlimited is not published; ~$3,500–$4,500 is what venues have told us they pay, not a Golf Genius list price. Add $300 one-time onboarding to either plan in year one. Multi-location pricing is not published either — validate a chain comparison against the operator's actual quote. Pricing FAQ

Straight answers on cost.

The questions operators ask before a demo — the registration model, how it compares, and what founding rates include.

How much does Fareway cost?
Fareway charges once per golfer registration — not per round they play, and not as an annual license. Founding-partner rates are $4 per league registration and $2 per tournament registration (standard rates are $6 and $3). The same rate applies at every volume, and a longer season costs no more than a short one.
Is there a flat platform fee, a per-round charge, or an annual minimum?
None of the three. You pay only for non-cancelled registrations — the charge is triggered once when a golfer is enrolled in a league season or a tournament, and never again for the rounds they go on to play. If a registration is cancelled, it is not billed.
How does that compare to Golf Genius?
It depends which of their plans you are on. Golf Genius publishes a per-round plan, Flex, for simulator golf — $2.00 a round up to 1,000 rounds, $1.50 to 2,000, $1.00 above — and counts a round as one booking per player. A golfer in a 16-week league is therefore sixteen rounds, so that season costs $32 down to $16 against a single $4 registration on Fareway. Their Unlimited plan is a fixed fee they do not publish; venues have told us they pay $3,500–$4,500 per location, and against the low end of that Fareway is cheaper up to roughly 875 league registrations and dearer above it. Rates as of August 2026 — check current terms with the vendor.
What counts as a registration?
One golfer enrolled in one competition. A golfer in three leagues and two tournaments over a year is five registrations. We bill per registration entered — never per round played — and only non-cancelled registrations are billable.
What do founding-partner rates include?
Venues that sign up in 2026 get founding rates ($4 league / $2 tournament), plus direct product-roadmap input, first access to new features and add-ons, and dedicated onboarding support.
Are Global Tournaments billed per registration?
No. Fareway Global Tournaments are free to the operator — Fareway-managed events you can opt into with zero operational lift. Fareway collects the entry fees and pays out 85% of the prize pool to winners, retaining 15% as the platform fee.
Do I get a better rate at higher volume?
Not automatically — one rate applies at every size, so there is no threshold to chase and nothing to calculate. If you are running several locations or serious volume, talk to us and we will agree pricing for that deal directly.
