Side games, skins and prizes

What side games are

Side games run alongside the league — Skins, Closest to the Pin and Longest Putt. Pick them in the league wizard, or add one later with Add a game on the Side Games tab until the season starts. Each game is copied onto every week, and golfers enter it separately from the league entry fee.

The Side Games tab has four parts: Setup, Entries, Results and Weekly Recap (some venues see only some of them). Each game has a setting for how its fee is collected — Fareway charges it in the app, or The venue takes it at the counter — and the venue keeps the pot and pays its own winners.

Set up skins

Where Leagues your league Side Games Setup

1. Open Side Games and stay on Setup. A red box, Some sessions are not ready to run these games, lists what’s missing — usually No entry fee has been set.
2. On the left, click the game (for example Skins). Its Rules and Money boxes hold the league-wide settings. You can change them until the season starts; after that they’re locked.
3. Under Weeks, click a week that hasn’t started. Weeks that have started are greyed out.
4. Type the Fee this week ($).
5. Click More settings for this week to change anything else (see the table).
6. Click Save this week. A message says Week updated — Only Week N changed.
7. Repeat for every remaining week. The red box gets shorter, and the red number on the tab disappears when every week is ready.

Skins are played on every hole, so there’s no hole to choose. Closest to the Pin and Longest Putt need the week’s course set first so a hole can be picked, and can pay per hole or one winner for the whole night.

Where Side Games Entries

• Pick the week with the buttons at the top, or search for a golfer or team.
• Filter the list with All, Already in, Not yet in or Missing payment, and change the Order by drop-down.
• Select golfers, or a whole team, on the left, then register them for the game.
• The game’s column shows its fee and reminds you the boxes are for that week only. Owes shows what a golfer still owes.

You can also add a golfer from Prizes → Who is in with Add a golfer.

Results and the weekly recap

• Results shows the week’s leaderboard button, the skins pot, what needs your attention that night, and who is in.
• Weekly Recap summarises a week: league prizes, each side game’s result, and who played. Download saves it as a CSV file; where it’s available, Share with league posts it for your golfers.

Calculate and record prizes

Where Leagues your league Prizes

1. Use the Session drop-down to pick a week.
2. Click Calculate Prizes to generate draft prize results, or Add Prize to add one by hand. Then review and approve them (Approve All approves every draft).
3. For skins, the Skins box tracks the Pot and the Per Skin value, and says whether the pot rolls across the whole schedule.
4. Under Who is in — Skins, use Add a golfer to enter someone.
5. When you pay a skins winner, write it down under Awards the venue made with Record an award — including the times you clear a pot that has been rolling.
