The Fareway app for your golfers
What your golfers see and do — signing in, registering and paying, entering scores and following the standings — so you can answer questions on league night.
Signing in
Golfers sign in with their phone number and a code sent to it by text. There’s no password to forget or reset. If a golfer can’t get in, check that the phone number on their account is the phone in their hand.
Changing the phone number in the app’s profile doesn’t change the number they sign in with. If a golfer has a new phone number, contact Fareway.
Registering and paying
League sign-up happens on the web, not inside the app. Your sign-up link and QR code (see Promote your league) open the league’s page on ply.golf, where a golfer:
- registers their team and names their teammates,
- can hold a spot for a teammate who hasn’t been named yet, if the league allows it,
- pays once, by card, for the whole team.
Entering scores
Depending on how you set Edit League → Score Entry → Who can enter scores, golfers enter their own card, or anyone on their simulator or in their matchup can. They can enter scores three ways:

| By photo (Beta) | Take a photo of the scorecard and the app reads it. The golfer checks the numbers before saving. |
| From the simulator | On GolfZon bays connected to Fareway, the round can be pulled in automatically. Ask your Fareway contact whether it’s switched on for your venue. |
Once a card is Validated, golfers can’t change it — but you always can, in the Hub. See Fix a wrong score.
Standings and the leaderboard
- In the app: My Leagues → League Leaderboard.
- In any web browser: your venue’s page on ply.golf has a Live tab where anyone can follow the standings without signing in — handy on a screen in the bar.
Questions people ask
A golfer wants to reset their password. What do I tell them?
There isn't one. Golfers sign in with their phone number and a code sent by text.
Does a golfer need the app to sign up?
No. Registration and payment happen on the league's web page — the one your sign-up link and QR code open — so it works from any phone browser.
